Angus grew up around a military base, and that history still shapes what we find behind the walls.
A town built around the base
Canadian Forces Base Borden opened in 1916 and is the oldest continuously operating Canadian Forces base in the country, and the town of Angus grew up right alongside it as a place for base families and workers to settle. That history shows up street by street: Permanent Married Quarters and the housing built up around the base in successive waves through the mid-20th century sit next to newer infill and small subdivisions that filled in gaps over the following decades, so the plumbing generation on any given block can vary a lot even where the houses look similar from the road.
